Privacy notice
How I handle personal information when you contact me for EV and transport-cost advice.
Last updated: 27 October 2026
I value your privacy. This notice explains what information I collect through EVSA, why I use it, who helps me process it, and how you can contact me about your information.
1. Who is responsible for your information?
Clive Lander, trading as EVSA (EV Savings Advisor), operates as a sole proprietor in South Africa. I am responsible for how personal information submitted to this website is handled.
Address: Greenpoint Farm, Richmond Valley Road, Richmond, KwaZulu-Natal, 3780.
Email: landerclive@gmail.com
Phone: 082 787 8111
2. What I collect
When you complete my consultation enquiry form, I collect your name, email address and the service you are interested in. You can also choose to provide a telephone number, current vehicle or fleet, approximate monthly kilometres and a message.
If you request EV buying guidance, you may also provide your budget range, home or workplace charging arrangements, typical trip distance and main vehicle use. If you later become a paying client, I may collect additional information you choose to provide for an agreed assessment, such as running costs, service history, route details, energy tariffs and relevant vehicle documents.
Netlify and other hosting services may process technical information required to deliver this site and its forms, such as IP addresses, request details and anti-spam information. Please do not send identity numbers, banking details, medical information or confidential financial documents in the initial website form.
3. Why I use this information
I use your details to respond to your enquiry, understand your requirements, provide a quotation, arrange a consultation and deliver a service you request. If you become a client, I may also use relevant information for invoicing, record-keeping, responding to follow-up questions and meeting legal obligations.
The enquiry form identifies which details are required. If you do not provide a name, email address and selected service, I may not be able to respond meaningfully. Other information is voluntary.
I do not use website enquiries to enrol you in unsolicited marketing or sell your details to advertisers. I do not make automated decisions about your eligibility or creditworthiness.
4. Who processes or receives the information?
Netlify hosts this website, receives and stores its form submissions, and may filter submissions for spam. The form notifications can be delivered to my Gmail (Google) address, where I respond to enquiries. These providers process information needed to provide those services, according to their relevant terms and privacy arrangements.
Where reasonably necessary, I may share relevant information with professional service providers assisting with a service or lawful record-keeping, subject to appropriate confidentiality and safeguards. I will not disclose your documents to a vehicle dealer or another third party for its own marketing without an appropriate lawful basis or your agreement.
5. Processing outside South Africa
Netlify and Google operate internationally, so information sent through my website or email may be processed or stored outside South Africa. I must ensure any such transfers have a lawful basis and appropriate protection as required by section 72 of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). If I materially change the providers I use, I will review this notice and my arrangements.
6. How long I keep information
For enquiries that do not become paid work, my intended retention policy is to delete the enquiry from my active email and Netlify records within 12 months of the last meaningful contact, unless there is a valid legal or other lawful reason to keep it longer.
For paying clients, I keep working records only while reasonably necessary to provide the agreed service, support legitimate follow-up matters or meet legal obligations. Tax and accounting records, including invoices, will be retained for the period required by SARS—generally at least five years from submission of the relevant tax return, and longer where an audit or dispute requires it. I review and securely remove information once there is no longer a lawful reason to keep it.
7. Keeping information secure
I use password-protected service accounts and reasonable access controls to protect enquiry and client information. No online communication or storage method is completely risk-free. Please contact me if you suspect that information sent to EVSA has been accessed or used without authorisation.
8. Your rights under POPIA
Subject to applicable legal limits, you may request access to personal information I hold about you, ask for incorrect information to be corrected, request deletion of information I no longer need, or object to certain processing. Please email landerclive@gmail.com with your request. I may need to verify your identity before disclosing personal information.
If you believe your information has been handled unlawfully, you can also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) or email POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.
9. External content and technical data
The EVSA website currently has no advertising or visitor analytics scripts installed by me. It does include an embedded GridCars charging-station map. When your browser loads that third-party map, its provider may receive technical connection information and use its own technologies. You may instead open the GridCars map directly. Other external websites linked from EVSA follow their own privacy policies.
10. Changes to this notice
I may update this notice if the consultancy's services or information-handling arrangements change. The effective date will appear at the top of this page.
